End of life care - pet bereavement services
At Rowan Vets, we understand how painful losing a beloved pet can be. We want you to know that we’re here to support you every step of the way, and will treat your companion with the love, care, and dignity they deserve.
Talk to us about End of Life Care
The death of our pets is an event that we all fear. The hope is that our pets will gently pass away in their sleep and not have any pain or suffering. Sadly, that is not the norm. Instead, pet owners have the responsibility of making the hardest decision to end their pet’s life when their quality of life has deteriorated beyond an acceptable level, or they are in intractable pain.
The whole team at Rowan Vets feel that helping their clients make the decision to stop their pet’s suffering and let them walk over Rainbow Bridge, is one of the biggest honours of the profession. Making this decision as their owner (with the guidance of your Vet) truly is a gift, no matter how heart-breaking it can be.
We have a leaflet that you and your family members may find helpful: Time To Say Goodbye

Pet cremation services
We work with Leyland Pet Crematorium & Cemetery in Lancashire (PCS) – a wonderful, independent company who are fully licensed to carry out pet cremations. Our clients can choose to have their pet cremated individually and have their ashes returned to them, or have their pet buried. You can discuss all of the options available with our team, who will then take care of everything for you.
