A full suite of pet dentistry equipment
At Rowan Vets in Blackpool and on Hillock Lane in Preston, we always recommend to pet owners that oral healthcare should form part of their pet’s regular preventative healthcare routine. A combination of daily home cleaning, regular dental check-ups, and occasional professional intervention can help to ward off dental disease and tooth decay.
Veterinary dental care
We have the latest pet dentistry equipment at our main hospital site at Hillock Lane, including ultrasonic descalers and dental polishing machines. Using these we can remove the nasty build-up of plaque and tartar that can lead to dental disease, and restore the shine on your pet’s pearly whites.
Our fully equipped dental suite, which includes a hand-held dental x-ray machine, enables our team to diagnose and treat a range of dental conditions. These include more extensive veterinary dental treatments for cats and dogs, like tooth extractions and root canal work.
Some dental ailments can be hard to fully diagnose until your pet is undergoing dental treatment, when our experienced Vet Dentists can thoroughly examine your pet’s mouth.
Rabbits and other small furries have teeth that grow continuously. If they become overgrown or misshapen, Andrew Moore, our experienced exotics Vet, has the equipment to file down and remove spurs. Sometimes teeth may need to be trimmed or removed under general anaesthetic.
