Noise Phobia – Firework Season
August 1, 2022
It’s the beginning of August and you might be wondering why we are raising the topic that we are this month. Firework noise phobia is an issue that affects thousands of pets and their owners each year. It can be very distressing for pets and as a result, owners can become distressed and feel helpless to help their pet.
There are many things that an owner can do to help their pet on the run up to and during #fireworkseason BUT there is another option available to owners that requires a lot more time and dedication, so starting early in the year is a must!
To help owners understand how to use and implement a #noisetherapy programme, we are holding a client evening on 27th September 2022 at 7.30pm here at the main practice on Hillock Lane. Nicole, one of our vets who is currently studying a Masters in Behaviour, will host the evening. The purpose is to share information, advice and resources to help pet owners help their pet with firework noise phobia and talk through the stages of a noise desensitization approach. The evening begins at 7.30pm and refreshments will be served. You’ll also be in with a chance to win either a Feliway OR Adaptil diffuser kit. All you will have to do is turn up and your name will be entered. There will also be a little goodie bag to take away with you.
Places are limited to 25 and you will need to have a pet registered with us to qualify to attend. If you would like to book your spot, contact the team either on PetsApp OR by calling 01772 639800. Please leave your name, email address and contact telephone number with the team and your name will be added.
