Human Medicines and our Pets
March 25, 2022
We’ve seen an increase in visits recently from owners whose pets have eaten human medicine. With COVID and the cold and flu season, us humans have packets of PARACETAMOL and IBRUPROFEN laying around more often and our pets seem to think they are a #tastytreat! It can also be the case that a well-meaning owner gives their pet something with good intentions, only to find out they’ve potentially caused harm.
Many medicines that us humans use can be used to treat our pets but they also have the same potential to cause harm if not given in the right dose. Animals, in most cases, are much smaller and lighter so the dose has to be calculated carefully to ensure they’re doing the job right.
Download more information HERE and if you think your pet has ingested something they shouldn’t have, contact the team by calling 01772 639800 OR 01253 766352.
