Amy Eddleston PGCertSACN RVN
May 10, 2022
Today we celebrate Amy as part of #VNAM. Amy started at Rowan on a short-term apprentice contract role in early 2013. We were so impressed with her passion and drive that we offered her a permanent job. Amy undertook her veterinary nurse training with us and after qualifying as an RVN in 2018, wanted to pursue animal nutrition. She embarked on a Certificate in Nutrition qualification back in 2019 but due to COVID 19 there was a delay in her being able to complete the qualification until March this year.
Amy successfully completed and passed the course having attended weekend lectures, completing 4 case study assignments and 2 exams.
Amy is now able to advise owners on the different diets available; complete, complimentary, and the differences between them. She can advise on a suitable diet for pets to help manage other diseases a pet might have, such as kidney or heart disease, as well as being able to advise on diet to suit the life stage of your pet; puppy, senior etc.
Amy has been running regular weight management clinics to help those pets who might be carrying a few extra pounds OR who might struggle to put weight on. If you have a new puppy or kitten, Amy can advise on early years’ nutrition to give your pet the best start in life.
The subject of food and diet for pets can be emotive. It certainly generates much debate with very wide ranging opinions. We are great believers in signposting our our owners to balanced sources of information so that they may make their own, informed choices. With that in mind we have found a couple of links to information that owners may find useful:
If you have any questions about diet and nutrition or you think your pet’s weight is of concern, contact the team on PetsApp or by calling 01772 639800 OR 01253 766352.
